Mozambique
One of the African countries where the WASHCost project is being implemented is Mozambique. It is largely a rural country with 70% of its population residing in rural areas, often in scattered homesteads. Lack of accurate data, especially in rural and peri-urban areas, makes it impossible to estimate the true cost of extending sustainable and good quality water and sanitation services to the poor. There is therefore a strong need for improved cost information.
The lead partner for WASHCost in Mozambique is the Direcção Nacional de Àguas (DNA) while the project is hosted by CoWater Consuldores Lda.
